NTL, a subsidiary of the Alstom Group, is a French company specialising in the transport sector, with its head office in Hangenbieten in Alsace, near Strasbourg. It specialises in the design and manufacture of transport systems.
Area of intervention
On 09 March 2017, Alstom and NTL presented APTIS, the prototype of their new 100% electric bus, based on an original design by HAIKU DESIGN.
The features highlighted by HAIKU DESIGN’s original design are as follows: bodywork drawing on the original architecture / large glazed surfaces / symmetry of the front and rear faces / sourieur look / totally modular layout with flat floor / wide rear platform open to the city with skydome roof option.
Some of these features (visible on the 3D sketches) were not retained for the prototype.
